Today was a special day for Haru Uchiha, although she was on the council of elders; a group of ninja that answered directly to the Hokage. She was still a Jonin, and thus could be granted a squad. That was exactly what happened; as the council of elders came upon two young boys. Castus Jacobs, and Machi Jun. Who despite their very different personalities; stood out from the other Genin. Being one of the most powerful ninja in the village; the other Elders felt it was a disservice to Haru herself and the village as a whole to have her constrained with the duties of an elder not just at her age; since she was one of the youngest Elders ever, but at her skill level. She might be needed in the ninja world at large and not even know it as of now. That however, was all about to change as she would now actively have missions being given to her from the other Elders.

She walked through the woods after leaving through Konoha's main gate. A path that had been used by many great ninja past. A wooden trail leading to the famed training grounds.

"How am I supposed to fulfill my duties as an elder and....go on missions with an active squad. Oh well...guess I'll miss some meetings." she smiled as she flicked through the two pictures of her new students. This kid with a hat. Machi Jun. Supposedly he was an analyzer; an inner grin went off as Haru herself was this kind of person, although she herself had inner flaws such as getting to carried away with her punishments or convictions toward or upon others. But she did her best to refine her flaws through the years and rose to the rank of Elder eventually. She hoped she could guide Machi down the right path over the years. Wondering if these two knew the that most people would have a regular jonin for a squad leader and not someone on the council of elders; she hoped they were ready to be trained to last, and trained to kill if necessary. Because she knew the missions they would undertake together would not be missions for the weak or faint of heart.  

The second student, Castus Jacobs. Seemed to be a happy kid from the looks of what she saw about his academy file. She didn't pry too much; but it seemed he had a flip side to him that was warned about in his files. She'd have to watch him carefully throughout the years.

Reaching the training ground; she stepped out with her arms crossed. Wearing her usual Uchiha armor, the woman at about 5'5 stood with a sword sheathed behind her waist as well. Her long dark hair flowed down about mid back, and her dark eyes would open as she looked at the various wooden training stumps all around her in various circles.

With a simple handsign she performed the 'Shadow Clone Jutsu' as ten of her appeared. Scattering in all directions, including the real her. A clone was left there to greet her students. As the real her was in the treeline somewhere with her shadow clones, some were also turned into wooden training post and blended in with the others via 'Transformation Jutsu' maybe four or five of her.  

The lone Haru stood in the middle wondering what kind of people her new squad would truly be. Although unconventional to assign only two; a third one was said to be on the way soon but there were some other outside issues interfering with them being present on day one. She had a special surprise exercise in store for them as well. Hoping they enjoyed it; she didn't really care if they did on day one. She was their sensei first, friend second. She could be both; but there would be an order. In the name of the Uchiha Clan she would make damn fine shinobi of them both; come hell or high water. At 26 she had more than ten years on both of her boys, she wondered what they would think of her when they first saw her.

Waking up was always the worst part of the day but in Castus household it was really a event, his father was the first one gone and after that his mother would wake up and then wake up Castus and his twin brother before moving too make the four including the boys companions breakfast; by the time the food was done Castus would be lifting his groggy head out of bed his unkempt hair blocking half his face due too being stuck in the position it froze into during his sleep. After a few seconds he would lift himself out of bed and move toward his bathroom washing his face with cold water and shocking his system too feel a brush upon his leg and a already awoken Kurio.

Today was one of those days where he had a planned out event but Castus could hardly keep up with things he didn't plan himself. He would be placing on a brown short sleeves shirt on too accompany  the blue jeans he had slept in as he moved toward his calendar and looked over the date mouthing the writing to himself.

"Meet team"

Okay..Castus would think for a moment..That's cool. He would push his door open and be assailed by the smell of fresh food as Kuroi bolted down the stairs Castus would up his speed and quickly follow suit almost slamming into the table as he began eating even before he was fully into hit seat; after a good five minutes the meal would be done and the pair would be walking out of the door after your customary mother son goodbyes.

Kuroi would be right beside Castus as the two made there way into the forest and toward the training grounds for a second the two would walk but after a few paces Kuroi would take off and Castus would chuckle before dropping too all fours his muscles flexing and popping causing them too slightly enlarge as he took off on all fours moving in a criss cross pattern with Kuroi playfully; it would take a few minutes but eventually the two would arrive too the area with the two pushing and shoving each other before nothing the numerous post in the area caught Castus attention she was there team leader and one he knew well the fine uchiha elder or at least that's what Castus called her and it made sense for her too have a trial of sorts planned.

He would look around and walk up focusing on a her and moving toward her before stopping and looking around a bit.

"My name is Castus Jacobs Inuzuka. Looks like you set something up.....that's cool; oh and this is Kuroi"

Kazetora had awoken, the smell of fresh bacon being made tickling his nose.  The young man slowly sat up in his bed, the lanky youth looked down at his scarred body and sighed.  He slowly got out of his bed and walked to the bathroom.  There he brushed his teeth and slightly adjusted his unruly bed head, he did not care much for his appearance.  Once he had finished brushing his teeth and adjusting his hair, he splashed his face with some warm water, cleaning it up a bit.  The young man then threw on one of his usual outfits and walked downstairs as his mother finished preparing the food.

“Good morning Mother...” said the youth as he dragged out his speech showing his tiredness.  When he woke he knew that his day would be full of more boring missions that would simply drag on.  He had just picked up a piece of toast and dipped it into the yolk of his egg when his mother had said a letter from the Hokage themselves had arrived for him.  Blinking, he picked it up and opened the letter; it stated that he was being assigned to a team under a Jounin Sensei, an Uchiha like himself was the leader of the team.

As he read the letter a set of photographs would fall from the envelope, a picture of each member of the team and the leader.  He picked them up and studied them before placing them all back within the envelope and smiled.  “Mom! They are assigning me to a team!” His mother congratulated him immensely, his father normally would have already been down, but he had been out on a mission for a few days already. “Tell Dad when he comes home! Maybe now I can finally get some real missions to do! No more trash collection for me!”

He quickly scarfed down the remaining food on his plate and ran out the door, the letter specified that today he could take today off of missions and meet the team the following day, but it also stated that today would be the first time the team would be meeting.  As he left he began to search for any member of his team, and by pure luck saw one of the members, the photograph that he had labeled him as being named Castus but more than that Kazetora did not know.

Kazetora followed the person as best as he could, but the young man was obviously quite faster than the Uchiha; this did not make him dismay however and soon found himself in a training area, full of wooden logs for combat training.  Panting a bit heavily as he listened to the boy introduce himself, the fake red haired Uchiha bent forwards, his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath.  He was not used to having to run that fast or for that long, it was a bit exhausting, however he was still ready to meet the team.

“Hello...I am Kazetora Uchiha, and I have been assigned to this team by the Hokage...” Panted out the boy, holding up the letter he had been clutching in his hand, making sure to show the woman that was standing in the center of the area the seal of the Hokage, making sure that they knew he was not lying.  If she should motion to take the letter, he would allow her to do so.

The Letter:

Haru; or the lone shadow clone not disguised as one of the wooden training dummies would hear something coming off in the distance. Turning her head to the left; she would be greeted by a young boy and a dog; more like a wolf of a hound actually running out of the wooden path and into the training ground; wrestling with one another a little bit. Haru would furrow her brow at this a little and turn toward them with her arms crossed.

"Castus Inuzuka....." she would say in a serious tone of voice as she would look at the all black wolf. "And Kuroi....." she would walk up to him, standing a lot taller than him even though she was a woman she was a lot older. "Don't rough house too much in my presence...being a shinobi is a serious line of work; both you and Kuroi will have your life on the line a lot. One moment of lapse judgement...." as she said this; the clone speaking to him would disappear in a huge puff of smoke as one of the wooden training dummies would turn into Haru in another smoke burst.

With a 'Body Flicker' technique she would be behind Castus and Kuroi instantly. "And it's the end of you." she would say this as she would kneel, and give a somewhat cute look to Kuroi and pet him with a smile. Standing to her feet again, she noticed another person on their way. A kid a little taller than the other one with red hair; although she could sense he was an Uchiha like her. She wondered if he dyed his hair for some reason.

Panting, the boy would hold out a note as he got close to her. Although Haru already recognized him. As an Elder, she knew who the jinnchuriki of the village was. As she took the note from him; her gaze didn't leave him immediately as eventually she read the note and face palmed at her luck briefly turning her back to the boys comically at her luck. Turning back around she would cross her arms at Kazetora. Noting that he was taller than her by a little bit. A growing young man indeed.

"Oh I know who you are....." she opened her eyes with a deadly serious gaze. "Welcome to Team 1. Now we're just waiting on one Machi Jun to arrive." she would  call the boys together as if to stand in front of her at attention. She even shot Kuroi the dog a look telling him to fall in line to and to sit.

"You two will need to trust one another with your lives; from this moment on. Your brothers. Any arguments among you will be punished by an hour of genjutsu.....I may not get you immediately, but any time..any place. You're mine." she grinned a little as she would continue. "On the other hand...successful teamwork and missions will be rewarded with nights out, and nights off......I'm not a tyrant....everyday. We'll wait for Machi before introductions can be properly had. After that, we're jumping right into training...today."

With that, she would turn her back toward them arms crossed. She wondered if either of them would get the idea to strike her with her back turned. She would be proud of them if they did, but also proud if they didn't and remained in formation.

The sun, now rising wit its light shinning against the Leaf village, Machi awoke. Laying in his bed, he rose up slowly as if he was the undead. His face with no expression what so ever, the only action he made besides breaking was the constant smacking of his dry cotton mouth. Aside from his blank expression, he was actually very joyful. Today was the the day he would meet his team, finally, he was placed on a team. It wasn't unusual for a genie fresh out of the academy to be placed on a waiting list. There just wasn't enough high ranking shinobi to accommodate the rate of student s graduating from the academy. Only the people who graduate top of their class received preference, and there only could be on who could receive such a status. Nevertheless, Machi didn't mind, the wait was well worth the butterflies he would experience once he greeted his team.

after smacking his mouth, his eyes blinking rapidly while trying to shake of the tiresome feeling, he got up from his bed. He then sauntered over to his closet to change out his pajamas, but not before making up his bed first. He was a neat freak when it came to such things. He viewed it as sort of a reflection of how his day would be. Clean room, cheerful day. Messy room, uneventful day. After changing out of his clothes, now wearing a red short sleeve shirt with khaki shorts, he places his navy blue shoes on and makes his way down stairs. His attire also consists of his shinobi garments as well, a weapon pouch secured on the back right side of his belt, silver metal shin guards, silver metal forearm guards, and of course, navy blue hat version of the traditional leaf village head band. He always dressed like this, ready for what ever the day may throw at him. Although, he had to admit, he might have over done it with the shin guards, seeing how today was just going to be a meet and greet.

Reaching down stairs, he greets his mother, and grabs a banana on the way toward the door. This weekend it was his mother's turn to watch him. His parents were separated, but manage to stay cooperative when it came to watching their son. Machi was now a genie of the leaf village, which meant soon none of this wouldn't even be necessary anymore. He places his navy blue sandals on, and out the door he went. He begins to eat his filling banana on the way to the training grounds to meet Team 1.

Following the directions of the letter, he manages to find the designated area, among with the not only the sensei, but the other two genin in his team. His hands were already in his pockets upon arriving. His shoulder jolt straight up, he wonders if he was late. Not looking any of them in the eye, he greet them. "Hi... um I'm Jun, MACHI Jun I mean", he said while walking toward the the two genin.  His voice was low and soft, making it had for anyone to hear who didn't possess good hearing. It went hand in hand with his height, him being the smallest. As he scanned the area for the posts, he also noticed the dog which caused him to slow his advancement. 'A dog, does it bite? Better keep my distance cause I don't see a leash anywhere!', he muttered mentally. He stayed clear of it, his position to the left of the other two genin a couple meters or two.

Kazetora listened to the woman as she spoke about being brothers with his new teammates, he did not mind such. After all, he was an only child and had spent most of life ostracized by the village itself. He watched as the woman gave the dog a sort of death glare, as if she were telling it not to piss on the carpet. When she had turned her back the final time, something seemed a tad bit off about how she stood, it was as if she were inviting a challenge to her simply being there.

Whilst he had not been in many combat missions, ever since he had began to speak with Kurama within his own mind, he gained a small smidge of ability to discern such a thing. Wasting no time the young Uchiha charged forwards, he decided that he would test her abilities with a bit of hand to hand combat. Kazetora then jumped high into the air, adding a slight twist to his movements as he brought his right foot around to the left side of her head. He felt the urge to show her what he could do lest she remove him from the team and send him back to the boring missions he had been on.

He dug in deep...at least, spiritually, and delivered as powerful a roundhouse kick as he could. He hoped that the dog owner could follow up on his attack, knowing they might not have any teamwork to speak of yet, but if he was not as dumb as he seemed to look it might just end up well for the two of them. “You’re a Jounin Sensei! So don’t expect me to show you any mercy!” Kazetora was hoping that if the other boy hadn’t realized it already that his words would drive him into action.

As the final boy approached; Haru instantly recognized him as Machi Jun. The final member of Team 1. His attire was very professional; even for a genin he looked ready for battle. The only thing that was different was instead of a normal headband; he wore a blue hat with the leaf symbol emblazoned in steel on it.

"You're late......but right on time." she would smile at the young boy; the smallest of the three. "Now that we're all here. This is Team 1. Over the years you boys will grow together. Grow to either love or hate one another. However, one thing must remain certain. That you protect one another with your lives." she paced in front of them a little bit as she talked with her hands behind her back.

Eventually showing all 3 of them her back again. Soon however, one of them would take the bait. And she had a good idea of which one it was. Kazetora charged forward, the tallest of the group itself as she could tell by the weight of the wind falling after hearing the position he leaped from.

Without moving, Haru would raise her hand and literally catch his foot mid-flight before tossing him toward a wooden training dummy; whipping him through the air like a literal baseball as he would fly through the air. As he reached the training dummy mid-toss; the dummy itself would explode in a cloud of smoke and reveal itself to be one of Haru's shadow clones.

With a bird like whistle; the clones arm would be completely covered in lightning as 'Chidori' would begin, the ground around her sparked with lightning and coiled up her arm; wrapping around a chopped hand formation. With her free hand; she would grab Kazetora out of the air in a millisecond and hold the lightning hand up to the side of his face.

"Always know your opponent before you strike....although, you gain points for having the gall to strike. Hesitation can also lead to defeat." she said over the sound of the lightning, and it flashing near his face illuminating both their features. Turning the jutsu off her hand would stop sparkling as she would grin at Kazetora before releasing him and performing a knee to his stomach at incredible speeds before tripping him off the ground casually with one leg; and then stepping into a front boot kick. Likely sending the boy tumbling back to his teammates.

"This exercise will end once one of you manages to lay a single hand on me." she said this as she made eye contact with all of them. Her Sharingan would activate, as the two tomoe spun around into place. She would use 'Mirage Crow' as the genjutsu literally would pull her apart into black crows as several over her would appear around the group as crows peaced together about ten Haru's. They all spoke at once in creepy fashion with a "Begin."

Being hounded about having fun was never cool but Castus would have no time too linger on the thought he would sniff a little as the smell of sweat would reach him and he would turn too see one of his teammates; he would give him a look over and the first thing he would notice would be the boys height. He was big and if it counted for anything he surely had it. Castus would pivot back into his original footing and Kuroi would walk over neither of them payed any attention too the stare that Haru was giving Kuroi but it didn't mean the two didn't notice. After a few seconds the last member of their team would arrive and Castus would look over his shoulder too see a much smaller boy who looked rather sure of himself simply from his attire; the air he gave off was even somewhat noble.

Castus would turn back and look around for a second he really was not paying attention to what their sensei was saying instead he was looking over his new team; his father told him that once you he was placed on a team everything began falling into place and he meet people who were later family in life, the feeling would cause Castus to grin and just as he did so Kaz would take off aiming too attack their sensei. The attack would go as one would expect but Castus would pay attention while moving over toward Machi.

The first few things he would take note of were the fact that their sensei was not teleporting. She was vanishing and reappearing in another location and most likely through a clone variation. Castus would finish a step and get closer too Machi. His thinking would widen and he would assume that each post was most likely a clone except for the original post that were in the training grounds before Castus would try and remember but his memory would fail him.

As he reached Machi the Chidori would come too life and Castus would watch for a moment and at the same time begin talking. "Machi, each post is a clone. I will attack from below; and you can try and follow my lead any way."

Kuroi during this time would have been moving left and away from Machi and Castus before the chidori had been put too Kaz face Kuroi would also activate his beast human clone technique causing him too look exactly like Castus as he circled around for better postion. Castus would nod too Machi before jumping into the ground using the Earth Release: Hiding like a mole to begin moving through the ground at genin speeds in the direction of Haru and Kaz.

Spoiler:

Upon reaching the grounds, his instructor scolds him lightly for being late. His inner image crumbling before her statement, being late on the first day of the team meeting was not a good impression to leave on his teammate. He'd have to make this up some how, perhaps treating everyone to lunch after this way over? Machi always took the first step towards mitigating things, it was just the kind of person he was. Thoughtful of others feelings and such, everyone knew this about him. He continues to listen to his sensei preach about respecting others, regardless if they hated each other. Machi already thought of the sensei as a kind and fair person. He sure wa lucky to be placed on a good natured squad. He tilts his head over towards the others slightly too get a good look at them, that is till one of them. broke rank. 'Wait what...., what is he doing?1', he yelled mentally.

One of his squad mates rushed in for what seemed like a sneak attack. Machi started to think back to what the academy instructors sad about seizing the moment of any opportunity you get when going in for the kill. But to our own instructor? Regardless, it all probably going to be proved useless, whatever the red haired boy was trying to prove; dealt with the punishment of dominance and humiliation. She was a Jounin, well above what any of they boys wee capable of. While this was going on, his other teammate wandered over to him. His plan relayed to him, among other things, Machi reached into his weapon pouch with his right hand. During this time, his teammate was well beneath the ground from which they all stood with the other roaming else where. Machi then prepared to time his attack as he looks towards his sensei from a few meters away; she was casually attempting to sweep the boy off the ground. Her body, in Machi's point of view, was infant of the other boy. He pulls a kunai out of his pouch, and tosses it towards the sensei's right leg should the boy be tripped over with a swift leg sweep of which he took note of. His target was the sensei of course, he figures if he could wound her right leg by injuring the her right thigh, speed would no longer be on her side. Thus, giving his burrowing partner more of a chance to capture her. Like always, Machi as ready to adapt to the situation and thus remained vigilant, he remained on the balls of his feet in anticipation of what more to come.

Kazetora was suddenly caught, his foot in the woman’s hand as if it were nothing, the way she moved was quite nonchalant. Though he did not have very long to be impressed as he soon found himself flying towards one of the wooden posts, though it was not made of wood for long, by the time he had reached it, the post had turned into the Sensei. He soon found himself caught by her grasp once more, this time held up with her now lightning covered hand all but stabbed into his face. His black irises would be fixed on the hand that held the attack.

Kazetora listened to the insane woman who spoke over the sound of her own lightning based attack, she prattled on about knowing about ones opponent before striking and then complimented him on having the gall to even attack her. Kazetora felt a wave of relief flood through him when the attack on her hand was then dissipated, though he found himself soon doubled over in pain as the smaller woman had drove her knee deep into his gut. She had removed it just long enough to follow up with a sudden tripping of his body with her foot.

Though he never made contact with the ground, the woman was soon driving her foot into his face, sending him flying into the spot where once stood his team. One of them was quick to react, disappearing into the void somewhere whilst the other stood his ground. Groaning, Kazetora slowly stood himself back up. He rubbed his jaw where the woman’s foot had made contact with his face and spit out some blood from a small cut inside his mouth. Kazetora was definitely not pleased with this situation now, he was going to do all he could to get her to declare him the victor.

He soon was moving to the woman’s right, his left, he saw that her Sharingan was active. This was not good, but she was an Uchiha of some experience, it was to be expected. However, what he did not expect was her to suddenly melt into a flock of crows that seemed to multiply. His black eyes scanned the battlefield and noted there were suddenly ten of them. He knew that they could all be Shadow Clones that had stopped hiding, but that was less likely as to the reality.

Genjutsu.

He knew that he could not break it on his own, that much he knew. If he could rely on Kurama more or had his Sharingan he could likely break it, but the Uchiha could not use his Sharingan and Kurama was still very antagonistic with him. He then stopped moving, his hands would begin to form his handseals, chakra would begin to be molded deep within his stomach. He knew that at one point there were some Shadow Clones hidden into the area as the wooden posts, where there was one there would likely be more.

Kazetora knew little about combat strategies, but he knew that dwindling the enemies resources and combatants was an important aspect. As soon as he had finished the handseals and finished molding his Chakra the Uchiha jumped high into the air and placed his left hand in front his mouth, cupped but open and exhaled a deeply held breath. “Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu!” As he exhaled a large ball of fire was expelled from his mouth, quickly expanding towards where the wooden posts were stood. Kazetora knew likely that this would be enough to destroy the clones.

The Sensei would either lose all ten clones or at least make them visible to the group, make them dispel their own transformations...if they were Shadow Clones, for all he knew there was only one clone disguised as a wooden training post...
