The first step to roleplaying on Naruto Night is to create a character. Creating a character is easy and members simply fill out the template found in the character creation forum.

Ninja Ranking Rules

There are 5 character or ninja ranks on Naruto Night, and no academy student ranks. Usually, members cannot start as higher than genin on Naruto Night unless admin permission is given. Active players are given priority for higher-ranking positions though in the case of someone like a Kage going inactive.

Each element and main specialty from ranking up require 1,000 words training.

D-rank Genin (Low Ninja)

1. Stats: Have 2 stat points to allocate.
   
2. Specialties: 1 main specialty.
   
3. Elements: 1 basic element. They can gain their jounin element with 3,000 words training. They can gain their elder element with 5,000 words training.
   
4. Jutsu: Able to learn unlimited C-ranks and below. Able to learn 10 jutsu for each rank above C except S-ranks.
   

How to rank up?:

1. Ranking up to chuunin requires Kage permission.
   
2. 10 missions of C-rank or above need to be completed. Half of them need to be B-rank or above.
   
3. Alternatives: Influence total and circumstances with equal effort can rank up alone. Chuunin equivalents have shown teamwork. Members can instantly rank up from chuunin exams when they're held.
   

C-rank Chuunin (Middle Ninja)

1. Stats: 2 stats are gained, have 4 stat points to allocate.
   
2. Specialties: 2 main specialties.
   
3. Elements: 1 basic element. They can gain their jounin element with 3,000 words training. They can gain their elder element with 5,000 words training.
   
4. Jutsu: Able to learn unlimited B-ranks and below. Able to learn 5 jutsu for A-ranks and 5 jutsu for S-ranks. Genin A-ranks can exceed the 5 but prevent further learning.
   

How to rank up?:

1. Ranking up to jounin requires Kage permission if in a village.
   
2. 10 missions of B-rank or above need to be completed. Half of them need to be A-rank or above.
   
3. Alternatives: Influence total and circumstances with equal effort can rank up alone. Jounin equivalents can have shown leadership. Members can instantly rank up from jounin exams when they're held.
   

B-rank Jounin (High Ninja)

1. Stats: 2 stats are gained, have 6 stat points to allocate.
   
2. Specialties: 3 main specialties.
   
3. Elements: 2 basic elements. They can gain their elder element with 5,000 words training.
   
4. Jutsu: Able to learn unlimited B-ranks and below. Able to learn 10 jutsu for A-ranks and 10 jutsu for S-ranks. Previous rank's training counts toward the max.
   

How to rank up?:

1. Ranking up to elder requires Kage permission if in a village.
   
2. 10 missions of A-rank or above need to be completed. Half of them need to be S-rank or above.
   
3. Alternative: Influence total and circumstances with equal effort can rank up alone. Elder equivalents can have shown dominance.
   

Elder/Sannin - A-rank

1. Stats: 2 stats are gained, have 8 stat points to allocate.
   
2. Specialties: 3 main specialties.
   
3. Elements: 3 basic elements.
   
4. Jutsu: Able to learn unlimited B-ranks and below. Able to learn 15 jutsu for A-ranks and 15 jutsu for S-ranks. Previous rank's training counts toward the max.
   

How to rank up?:

1. Ranking up to Kage/S-rank requires Kage and admin permission if in a village. Outside a village requires admin permission.
   
2. Influence total and circumstances with equal effort. Criteria is simple: are you the peak?
   

Kage (Shadow-Leader)/S-rank

• Stats: have 8 stat points to allocate.
  
• Specialties: 3 main specialties.
  
• Elements: 4 basic elements.
  
• Jutsu: Able to learn unlimited A-ranks and below. Able to learn 20 jutsu for S-ranks. Previous rank's training counts toward the max. For Kage all jutsu created are free Legacy Jutsu open to all in the village and they can create free NPC based on missions created. Non-Kage S-ranks can create their own line of jutsu equivalent to Limited Jutsu in balance.
  

Advanced Elements Note
Advanced elements such as Ice Release or Lava Release give 2 elements to start with and advanced elements such as Lava or Ice don't count towards an elemental total.

Advanced element clans besides Wood Release have even genin starting with an advanced element along with their 2 base elements.

Clanless Note
+1 main specialty for clanless is gained at chuunin.

Bloodlines and Clans

Limits for registration

Clans cannot have abilities listed as limited under jutsu rules and basic rules manipulations are prohibited. Multiple bloodlines can't be gained from 1 clan. Extra specialties cannot be obtained from clans. Jugo clansmen do not get juubi-like stats - what they can do is enable collaboration jutsu with those with Sage Mode. Dust Release is at the low-end of bijuu/juubi level and requires just as much as Senju's.

Clan Location

On Naruto Night, characters can start with any bloodline in any village. Uchiha don't need to start in Konohagakure for example.

Activity Checks

Individuals with high-demand bloodlines are subject to activity checks. Those with limited implanted bloodlines such as Uchiha and Senju in the case of experiments are subject to the same activity checks.

Implants

1. Dojutsu implants require medical ninjutsu/ijutsu full specialty to be completed and DNA from PC/member characters. Dojutsu implants are what can give a character a bloodline they don't possess by taking them from other PC characters.
   
2. Implants can't evolve unless the original user is still alive - in which case they evolve as the original user's does, and then require double the word count to unlock the final stage.
   
3. A dice roll will be completed per implant, and you have a 50% chance to get an implant by calling out "1 or 2". If you fail, you can do 4,000 words to keep trying for that DNA, and keep repeating the word count if you fail. Mangekyou implants are free.
   
4. People who already have had a Dojutsu will always have successful implants for that same Dojutsu and don't require rolls. There is no recovery as Sasuke was just being kept out of the war.
   
5. Other bloodlines besides dojutsu can't be implanted except by Kabuto's limited, but can be replicated by cloning into experiments like Yamato and Danzo's Shin arm with that limited.
